What was missing was a way to distribute Audio Units as add-ons for apps; this provides just that. Got myself an iRig HD and have just started tinkering around with Amplitube and Garageband on the iPad Air.
On the face of it Amplitude looks a more professional product at this point.
I'm not sure I want to go up the learning curve of getting conversant with the two interfaces, also Amplitude stings you for additional dosh for in-app add-ons to turn the app into a fully functional studio, although I don't mind paying for the add-ons if I'm making the right choice.
Any advice from anyone here that has gone through this would be much appreciated.
